How to apply for a Philippine Passport?

My friend Kevin wrote in with a question today regarding his daughter.

Here is what Kevin had to say:

Bob,

My daughter was born in the Philippines and has obtained her US passport because I declared her my daughter when I was in Manila at the US embassy.

So to get here Philippine passport, do I just take her to the NYC embassy and fill out the forms?

Hi Kevin,

Yes, you should be able to apply at the Philippine Consulate in NYC, or at any Philippine Consulate or Embassy.  Since you live relatively close to NYC, that would be the way to go!  Take care!
