Today we got a comment and question from Neng.
Here is what Neng had to say:
I am a retired US citizen and planning to own properties in the Philippines thru inheritance or transfer of titles from my mother. Do I need to apply for dual citizenship? If I do, what are taxable? Would my US Pension and other earnings be taxed also in PI? What taxes do I need to pay as a dual citizen for owning properties in the Philippines?
I hope to hear from you or other readers who may have these questions too. Thank you
And here is Bob’s response to Neng:
Hi Neng – If you qualify for dual citizenship, I think you should apply for it, there is nothing to lose. If you live outside the Philippines, and your income is earned outside the Philippines, there should be no taxes to pay.
Thank you for visiting, Neng, and best of luck.
