Moving to the Philippines

Today we got a comment and question from Travis Shore.

Here is what Travis had to say:

Hey Bob, Just found your website. My wife moved to the US in 05 and received her US citizenship in 2009. This year we decided we have had enough of the US and plan to move to Samal full time in the winter of 2010-11. She applied here in the US for her dual citizenship and I applied for my permanent residency 13a for PH. Best thing we could do. It didn’t cost much ($200 for both) and only took a few weeks. Now we can move without worrying about the heavy taxes for our household goods and the issue of needing to leave the country every year… Hope this info helps anyone looking to stay in PH… Travis

And here is Bob’s response to Travis:

Congratulations, Travis! I hope you enjoy your life in the Philippines. My wife and I live in Davao City, have been here 10 years, and own a piece of land on Samal where we plan to build a house one of these days!

Thank you for visiting, Travis, and good luck with your move.
