I’m gonna have to split this up into several articles, otherwise, a single article will be too unorganized and long. With that out of the way, let’s get to it.
I think I mentioned it in my previous article, but I’ll put it here as well. This trip was kinda impulsively planned by me and a friend. I met her through a video game and we got close ever since I came back to the Philippines because we are usually on at the same time. One day as we were talking, it just popped up, “Do you wanna go on a trip?” and from there, we just went with it and settled on a date, location and other stuff.
We both have a few friends in Singapore, and she’s actually been there a lot since it’s just a 45-minute ferry ride. Let me tell you, without one of these friends, May, the trip would have been pretty chaotic and we would have had to do a lot of things just to set up.
I got in pretty late, around 9:30 pm. In our chats, it was expected that I’d be last to be picked up, they’d meet me at the airport and we’ll take the train to the hotel. Well, because of customs at the harbor, I was ready first. Problem was, May was already at the harbor so he couldn’t pick me up first. I decided to just get my money exchanged, then look for a place they could find me at. After getting the money, May said to look for a way to terminal 2, cause that;’s where the MRT drops them off. I found a shuttle to terminal 2 and waited a bit for them. After meeting up, we had to take a Grab to the hotel because the MRT stopped service for the night.

The ride to the hotel was a bit awkward since it was the first time we all met each other, but it was nice to see the city a bit. We got checked in to the hotel and May even gave me an MRT card with a bit of credit on it already and a sim card I could use for my phone. We got a really late dinner at a dim sum place near our hotel then decided to call it a night.
The next day, May had work so we were on our own. We decided to look for an MRT station then grab some food. We walked about 10 minutes to an MRT station, found some food there (the bigger MRT stations are linked to malls or hotels or some other landmark, so they have food places and other stores there). After a bit of back and forth, we decided to go to Sentosa and have a look at the merlion there and just walk around a bit. It was nice and we went when there weren’t too many people. After that, it was just walking around the mall there and then back to the hotel for a short break before heading out at night.

The public transport made it so easy and cheap to get around that we just decided to go anywhere at any time and it would simply take a quick map check. Actually, on that note, I highly recommend having a picture of the MRT lines on your phone, it makes it very easy to plan out how to get to where you wanna go.
Next article is most likely about food in Singapore. so stay tuned.
